Responsibility

  • to work with others to ensure the highest standards of nursing and clinical care to patients and carers
  • promote and maintain the philosophy of the hospice
  • work closely with other disciplines and deputise for the Senior Staff Nurse
  • promote and maintain high quality patient care by acting as a role model for more junior staff
  • deliver Specialist Palliative Care to patients / families
  • to deliver a range of patient care duties under the indirect supervision of registered nurses. To assist registered staff in the provision of high quality palliative care for patients, their relatives and carers
  • manage human resources and equipment
  • to advise and support staff, demonstrate competence in the speciality and broaden remit in line with current evidence based knowledge and training

Requirements

  • experience of working within a retail or hospitality environment and dealing with the public is required
  • experience of supervising others and / or working with volunteers would be an advantage
  • excellent inter-personal skills and an ability to get the best of people is essential

Requirements

  • you’ll be responsible for driving sales in your store, controlling costs and maintaining standards
  • you’ll have an appreciation and understanding of charity retail and why it’s one of the fastest growing areas in the industry
  • you must be able to manage and prioritise your workload, including tackling the challenges of multi-site management
  • experience of charity retail, including retail gift aid, would be an advantage but is not essential
  • alongside retail experience you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be enthusiastic about the opportunity to work alongside a large and diverse team of volunteers
