Responsibility
- monitoring of Lab P&L , controlling staff hours and overtime
- performs calculations required to properly evaluate design changes, provides engineering reports for the engineering department to assist in design change preparation
- perform clash avoidance testing using Navisworks Manage or Solibri and produce clash reports

- managing the CAD Scope Deliverables
- applies advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes for an assigned area of responsibility such as a function or product
- understand the underlying principles of all the laboratory equipment
- coordinating the Clash Resolution Process with the Level 1 Asset Leads
- strong understanding of ISO17025 and its implementation in a laboratory
- responsible for providing engineering technical advice on start-up and plant operations activities including equipment and system checkout, inspection for proper installation, review for correct design, and calculation of expected system and equipment operating parameters under temporary start-up conditions
- management of health safety and environmental standards in a water sciences environment
- assisting in the resolution of complex technical modelling and drafting issues
- assists with advice on the co-ordination of start-up operations, including the direction of craft, and all other start-up activities such as flushing, chemical cleaning, and initial equipment and system operation
- carry out personal development interviews, create and implement personal development plans for all laboratory staff
- working with the project team, client and consultants to review all CAD models for the project and make any necessary amendments
- work with the Area Manager to create and implement an ambitious growth plan
- ensuring CAD information meets the client's requirements/specifications and is suitably coordinated across disciplines/elements of the project and that Modelling SMPs are adhered to
- liaise with other Nijhuis Saur Industries Industrial O&M Solutions laboratories to ensure strategic alignment
- programme reporting against the MEP Trade Contractor progress
- day to day responsibility for all financial aspects of the laboratory including the assisting with the preparation of budgets, raising of purchase orders, invoice requisitions, procurement of equipment etc

- strong background in Civil/Structural Engineering
- minimum of 10 years related experience
- production experience in design and/or drafting
- theoretical & practical knowledge of the principles of laboratory testing
- ability to navigate Email / Aconex / Viewpoint
- previous experience managing MEP contract packages
- degree and/or qualification in a relevant technical subject including elements of Modelling and/or information Management
- knowledge of Quality systems such as ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and ISO 17025
- in-depth knowledge of UK BIM Framework in accordance with ISO19650 requirements
- knowledge of data input
- previous experience within Building Services in a similar role
- extensive experience using Navisworks and significant experience of producing Clash Reports and working within ProjectWise
- in-depth experience of Autodesk products specifically Revit, Civils 3D and Navisworks
- knowledge of industrial water / effluent treatment chemistry
- proven document control experience using electronic document management systems is essential
- A strong understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical installations
- significant experience of AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Revit, and other Autodesk packages and knowledge of Asset Data Management and Model Data Checking
- previous participation in UKAS audit
- work on Security Cleared projects is desirable
- good knowledge of Microsoft
- previous experience working on food and beverage use in Hotel/office installations is beneficial but not compulsory
- extensive 3D CAD/BIM modelling experience, particularly in the design of major civil engineering, infrastructure or rail projects
- experience in Auditing for a quality system
- construction experience working for a contractor
- experience in setting up and coordinating a CAD Protocol and Execution Plan for a given project
- strong interpersonal and communication skills
