Responsibility
- assist in the Maintenance of Flood and Pollution Infrastructure including inspections, pump maintenance and monitoring systems maintenance
- inspection of Civil Engineering Infrastructure
- responding to issues with Civil Engineering Infrastructure in a timely and practical manner
- responsible for ordering and maintaining stock levels required for the post, including collection and delivery of materials from stores and suppliers
- carry out checks and monitoring on relevant mechanical plant and equipment
- to escort and supervise external contractors and assist in arranging their visits
- maximising the Airports Civil Engineering Infrastructure availability through good maintenance practices, typically including small asphalt repairs , concrete repairs and repairs and maintenance to water hydrants, line markings, street furniture and fencing
- familiarisation of new installations by third parties including consultation at design phase if required
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in relevant Civil Engineering Discipline
- A full and clean driving licence
- fork lift licence
- to support the continuing operation of Birmingham Airports Civil Engineering Infrastructure
- great communication skills, both public and inter-departmental
- must be able to work on own initiative as well as work within a team environment
- civil engineering: 3 years
- willingness to receive training as deemed appropriate
