- experience with working with young people preferably in a residential home
- experience of working with service users with low self-esteem and challenging behaviours
- supporting staff with young people with complex needs, including health needs and interventions
- committed to the vision of working to the ethos and culture of Bess Solutions Limited
- to work on a rota basis 365 days a year
- residential Childcare: 1 year
- overseeing individual and team performance to maintain a high standard of care
- monitoring, managing, and accounting for all expenditures
- designing, reviewing, and implementing effective care plans
- ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements
- leading staff development, including supervision, appraisals, and training
- managing staff schedules and rotas effectively
- maintaining the home to exceptional standards
- supporting staff in achieving Level 3/4 Diploma qualifications and participating in in-house training programs
- extensive knowledge of children’s homes regulations and current legislation
- minimum of 3 years’ experience in a children’s residential care setting, ideally in a managerial or deputy managerial role
- valid UK driving licence
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management , or willingness to complete this qualification
- ability to commute Leicester
- strong understanding of child development and the ability to operate a home rated as Good or Outstanding
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards of care
- provide direct care and support to children in a nurturing and therapeutic environment
- support the Registered Manager and Team Leader in the operational running of the home
- lead shifts, supervise junior staff, and ensure accurate record-keeping
- implement individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- support children with education, daily routines, and emotional wellbeing
- promote positive relationships with children, their families, and external professionals
- participate in training, team meetings, and continuous professional development
