Mid to Senior Designer Horsham
The Role Creative Assembly is looking for an experienced Mid to Senior Designer to join the talented Total War team on a new entry into the franchise. This role will be based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex. This role focuses on creating, and helping to create features that provide immersive and engaging gameplay experiences, applying your expertise to designing game systems along with content that exploits these systems to the greatest effect. You will have strong game design intuition, the capacity to understand gameplay aesthetics, and are keen to develop your design skills in new and unexpected ways. You will report to the Lead Designer and work closely with the design team and other discipline experts to ensure that features align with the gameplay vision, and that the team is engaged with, and invested in, the development process. Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote within country of employment for eligible roles, and in-studio. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times. What you’ll be doing As a Designer, you are responsible for crafting the player experience, from initial feature ideation and planning through to prototyping, implementation and ongoing balancing and iteration. You create systems and content that provide immersive, engaging, and valuable experiences that strive to meaningfully uphold the game's pillars, themes and vision. Senior Engagement Designer ? HYENAS (FPS) Horsham
The Role Creative Assembly is looking for an experienced Senior Engagement Designer to join our FPS team to work on HYENAS, our exciting new first-person shooter. This role will be based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex. In this exciting role, you will be able to make a real impact in our game by designing, developing, and maintaining systems with massive impact on the live game experience and game economy. To do so, you will be collaborating and creating with our talented and passionate team, developing an innovative brand-new FPS. Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote for eligible roles, and in-studio. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times. This role is Hybrid and has an expectation of an average of 1 day per week in our Horsham studio. This role can also be fulfilled fully in studio. What you'll be doing As an Engagement Designer, you will primarily work on the game’s progression systems, in-game economy, seasonal elements, and monetisation. You will create and maintain emotionally engaging progression systems filled with appealing reward items. As a further key responsibility, you will manage virtual goods while implementing the setup of currencies, prices, quests, seasonal elements and in-game events within the game economy. This will require work in various tools including, but not limited to, Unreal and LUA while collaborating with a wide variety of disciplines from UI Artists to Release Managers. The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior to Principal Level Designer to join an exciting new project and team, taking a leading role in level design, world-building, and game structure on Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). The project is based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex, however this role may be based either in Horsham, or at CA North in Newcastle, UK. This can be discussed upon application. The successful candidate will drive strong, compelling level design, that enhances in-game encounters and the overall experience. They will also be responsible for enabling the game's overarching structure and its world architecture. Flexible working at Creative Assembly includes hybrid, fully remote within country of employment for eligible roles, and in-studio. We recognise that there is no one-size-fits-all approach and empower our teams to define the working patterns which work best for them, which may mean different things for different teams and roles and at different times. This role is Hybrid and has an expectation of 1 day every 2 weeks, in our Horsham or Newcastle studio. We will consider remote working in exceptional circumstances. The Role This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior to Principal Game Designer to join an exciting new project and team, taking a leading role in design, world-building, and game structure on Unreal Engine 5 (UE5). The project is based at our headquarters in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex, however this role may be based either in Horsham, or at CA North in Newcastle, UK. The successful candidate will be joining a new project in its early prototyping phase, iterating rapidly to create compelling gameplay, and collaborating with a small team initially to realise the vision.
