Workshop Manager Abingdon
Purpose:Ashby Engineering is seeking a talented, self-motivated engineering manager to lead and grow its CNC Workshop.The successful candidate will have a strong engineering background, gained in a fast-moving CNC-based environment, with the ability to lead manage and motivate a team of skilled engineers.The role will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the customer base by ensuring output is delivered on time, and meeting quality and budgetary demands.Responsibilities:Responsible for managing the CNC department, ensuring all product is delivered on time and to specification.Manage the performance of the Production team through leadership, training and development.Produce, and agree production schedules with the M.D. that are realistic, achievable and meet the departments financial objectives.Strive to improve operational efficiency and the elimination of waste.Manage production working hours to satisfy capacity demands, fulfil delivery needs and control associated costs.Manage machinery to maintain effective performance and safe operating at all times.Liaise with purchasing on the timely delivery of raw materials to minimise stockholding of non strategic stock, process consumables and tooling.Ensure Quality procedures are adhered to at all times.Be prepared to discuss technical/quality issues with customers.Hold Production review meetings with the M.D. and other stakeholders as required.Maintain a clean safe working environment at all times.About you:A strong engineering background.A strong knowledge of CNC machining.Good understanding of Production Management.Good I.T. skills.Excellent people and process management skills, that include staff development and process improvement.Self motivated, energetic individual capable of a significant contribution
