Requirements

  • hold a CCAB accounting qualification
  • experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role
  • experience of delivering a payroll service
  • knowledge/experience of Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll software
  • experience in the preparation, monitoring and reporting of budget and financial management information
  • experience of management of VAT within a charity environment
  • excellent knowledge of accounting principles and best practice, and the preparation of charity and company financial statements
  • experience of reviewing and adapting plans

Responsibility

  • the production of accurate, timely and compliant annual statutory accounts
  • reviewing current financial policies, procedures, and systems and where necessary strengthen or create new more efficient approaches
  • managing employee relation issues such as poor performance, sickness absence in a supportive, consistent, and timely manner in line with [Charity] policies and procedures
  • ensuring all financial systems are working efficiently and recommend and instigate changes to improve efficiency were appropriate
  • to undertake such other duties as the line manager shall from time to time determine
  • ensuring the production of quarterly VAT returns and liaise with HMRC as appropriate
  • reconciling payroll, monthly pension contributions and PAYE/NIC including payroll submissions to HMRC and annual employee P60s
  • ensuring all policies, processes and procedures are adhered to
