Responsibility
- to recognise the needs of the service provided by adopting a flexible attitude to work routines and shift patterns
- to have the ability to communicate clearly, orally, written and IT
- to ensure medical and dental treatments are arranged as necessary
- to liaise with family and other multi-agencies to gather information to assist in assessing the needs of children and young people
- work with all children and young people within the home whilst carrying out Placement Plans to ensure that the young people’s physical, emotional, and social well-being is cared for, and feeding back information to relevant individuals as appropriate
- to support children and young people in other environments outside of the home, as required i.e. at school & during hospital stays/admissions
- reporting any child protection issues
- protecting each child and the group by providing supervision and control appropriate to their age and understanding
Requirements
- there may be an option for the successful candidate to work towards this qualification alongside their role
- support Environment
- residential Childcare
- candidates are expected to hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or a qualification that the registered provider considers to be the equivalent to the Level 3 Diploma
- in the past 5 years the candidate should have at least 1 years’ experience in a position relevant to the residential care of children
- residential Care Home: 2 years
