Responsibility

- to identify repetitive issues/failures and propose longer term measures and solutions where necessary by monitoring and record maintenance activities
- manage the Computerised Maintenance Management System including management of Superuser and preparation of all work packs , schedules and stock management
- contribute to the overall performance of the Company through co-operation/assistance with other company stakeholders, shared experiences, supporting of initiatives that are approved and supported by the senior management team
- taking an active part in the on-going improvement of the plant, including writing policies / procedures, setting up the CMMS and initiating 3rd party contracts for consumables, spares, parts and maintenance requirements
- keep abreast of and be conversant with all relevant legislation and to interpret and communicate it to all staff while giving clear guidelines in respect of appropriate action required
- deputising for the Plant Manager and Operations Manager when required
- to react to all plant defects by monitoring shift log entries and the IT Maintenance system and assign priorities for rectification
- following site MOC procedure for plant changes and modifications
- development and implementation of a routine inspection and monitoring programme to ensure the plant and all equipment performs at optimum level, and to minimise incidents or breakdowns
- liaise with contractors as the need arises
- plan, manage and lead outage / shutdowns / cleaning cycles working closely with Fleet engineers and site technicians. Overseeing 3rd Party Maintenance contractors and service level agreements on critical equipment
- responsibility for key maintenance activities and meeting KPI’s
- ensure plant cleaning schedules are fulfilled to a satisfactory standard
- the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and running of the maintenance department, ensuring maximum production with minimal downtime. You will report directly to the Plant Manager
- preparing the annual budget for the site maintenance department for review and ensuring all work is within this budget unless unplanned
- the above duties are not exhaustive. The job holder will also be required to carry out other ad hoc duties that are necessary
- own and Develop maintenance strategies that adhere to company standards
- ensure that stock levels at re-order level are re-ordered for all items of spares and consumables
- to take a lead role in fire drills and evacuations
- owning the Maintenance schedule ensuring appropriate prioritisation to the overall Site Business Plan, working closely with the Plant Manager to ensure any modifications to the maintenance plan are robustly managed
- ensure competency of team meets the required standards through continual team development
- supply forecasting and liaison with the Purchasing Manager to maintain adequate minimum stock levels
- liaising with company directors and managers as well as external stakeholders such as contractors, principal client and the environmental agency to ensure smooth operations
- ensure that all data reporting on planned and unplanned maintenance actions is recorded correctly, promptly and dealt with by appropriate persons within the required time scales
- attending daily and weekly operational meetings ensure plant and maintenance defects are fed into maintenance workflow, prioritised and scheduled
- manage critical stock ensuring parts are labelled, accounted for and expensed in line with work orders
- build and maintain strong working relationships with all departments
- manage team overtime and call outs and follow up ensuring resource is in line with operational needs
- provide direct line management support to key team members
- responsible for the maintenance of the EfW Plant and back up Boiler Section
Requirements
- degree/ HND in a relevant Engineering discipline
- an effective communicator at all levels
- previous management experience in Waste to Energy or Power Station plants
