- support the design and optimisation of system architectures and solutions using system modelling techniques
- support of research projects completed within the department and with partner universities
- involved in platform level engineering activities, bringing together sub-systems to form effective system of systems

- liaise with MOD establishments, test facilities, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers as required
- calculations to considered reports on component selection to designs for Human Machine Interfaces and analysis of impacts on Communications systems
- stealth improvement activities on the In-Service fleet

- supporting the capture, definition, analysis and management of requirements
