- risk assessing all jobs before work begins
- maintenance and repair of a range of mechanical plant, a good knowledge of Pneumatics & Hydraulics
- good knowledge of all pump types
- completion of reactive tasks as per defect list, obtain readings from various on-site meters and completion of relevant check sheets
- completion of Planned Preventative Maintenance activities

- participate in Projects, continuous improvement, and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes
- assisting with contractor and third-party asset services and general housekeeping
- undertaking surveys and reports as required
- complete all logs and job sheets as required
- to evaluate performance and ensure the proper servicing and maintenance of equipment under contract to the company is carried out
- to carry out risk assessments of routine maintenance procedures and unplanned works
- actively participate in projects, continuous improvement, and modern manufacturing principals
- to be able to carry out a reasonable standard of welding, MMA & MIG
- completion of steam raising works and boiler house routine checks
- to ensure that maintenance staff take responsibility for their work environment and that all tools are maintained and accounted for
- lead the shift maintenance team, providing both a reactive and pro-active, highly skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure
- to install and maintain equipment ensuring minimum interruptions to production
- assist in meeting all legislative requirements in respect of environment and health and safety, including maintaining accurate records
- following and completing planned maintenance and overseeing the adherence of timely completion of work carried out
- attend all nominated training modules as necessary
- to assist in any other duties and ad hoc projects as and when required
- cover in the plant for sickness/holidays
- increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, mean times between failure and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to

- undertaking any other duties reasonably requested by the ReFood Management Team
- undertaking planned preventative maintenance and lubrication schedule on plant assets such as: pumps, motors, gearboxes, and valves
- any other ad hoc duties as required
- liaise with external contractors for reactive maintenance and to schedule planned service maintenance, request, and check RAMS, induct personnel, provide permits to work and oversee contractor work onsite to ensure it is carried out safely
- be expected to adhere to all Site and Saria Group Health and Safety Regulations and required to attend Health and Safety, Fire and Welfare Training both on and off site
- liaise with the SHEQ team to resolve H&S issues, environmental, internal audits, GMP, COSHH and ISO quality issues, and ensure all compliance checks are complete and correctly filled
Requirements
- had a time served apprenticeship or recognised Mechanical Engineering certification/qualification, or equivalent
- hold a recognised apprenticeship
- previous engineering experience within a process/factory environment

- dual Skilled mechanical/Electrical is desirable but not essential
- manage a number of projects effectively and troubleshoot as and when required

- experience of Centrifugal, Lobe, Diaphragm, and screw pumps
- must be a team worker and help the team to be developed and maintained
- good communication skills, both verbally and written, along with excellent organisational skills
- able to replace shafts seals and bearings, pipework, fittings, and couplings
- good IT skills, including Microsoft packages and Outlook
- confident with valve replacements and basic pneumatics
