- be able to adapt working practice to the ethos of the home

- ensure that regulation requirements are met and comply with care standards

- conducting supervisions, mentoring and annual appraisals of staff
- diploma Level 3 qualified in Children and Young Person’s Workforce or equivalent
- have 3 years’ work experience working with Children and Young People within a residential environment including 2 years at senior level
- manage safeguarding issues
- take a lead in ensuring meetings and reviews of children and staff are delivered within required time scales
- level 5 Leadership & Management qualification or Level 4 Registered Manager Award, or equivalent
- ensure that all records are properly maintained in conjunction with the requirements of data protection and human rights legislation and regulation
- ensure effective delivery of individual care planning requirements for children and young people
- ensuring each young person has a personalized care plan which reflects the care, educational, social, emotional, therapeutic and health needs that is regularly reviewed
- have attention to detail ensuring correct information is recorded in all paperwork, keeping this up to date and organized for the managers review
- experience of Ofsted Inspections
- ensure risk assessments of each young person/activities taken place in the home/general home respect and of staff are conducted
- complete the administration of financial, payroll and staffing related matters in the house within the prescribed time scales
- experience of attending professionals meetings and working contributively with the professional network
- ensuring adequate staffing levels that meet the needs of the Home
- complete Ofsted Induction Standards within 24 weeks of employment
- manage and monitor staffing costs, staffing structures and rota’s, ensuring they meet requirements of the children’s needs and are in line with allocated budgets
- experience of attending formal meetings and preparing formal reports

- proficient in medication administration and dosage calculations
