- essential Requirements

- as a Disability Assessor you will be responsible for carrying out assessments for the PIP benefit . There are 2 different roles available – Front and Back Office
- to undertake a combination of file-work and face-to-face/telephone assessments of customers in relation to a variety of benefits and provide a report to the DWP
- back Office – This is the first stage of the process – carrying out paper-based reviews to gather medical evidence to support the claim and liaising with local GPs and other healthcare professionals
- to undertake a combination of file-work and face-to-face/telephone assessments of claimants in relation to the ESA benefit, and provide a report to the DWP
- this may involve services such as ENT, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, Tongue tie, Phlebotomy and any other new services which may be introduced in the future
- to provide support in the triage of referrals to clinical services within Living Care
- front Office – Conducting in-depth telephone assessments with the claimant and writing up reports using the information gathered and your clinical knowledge
- the role of the post holder within the service will included medication management, specimen sampling, supporting clinicians within a variety of services
- the post holder will contribute to the smooth and efficient running of all services and help to develop, monitor and evaluate good clinical practice
- the role will include working closely with a variety of clinical staff members to include GP’s, Audiology Services, Radiographers, Sonographers, Endoscopists and Consultants to improve the level and quality of services within and across all clinical services
- deliver nurse led clinics, to undertake assessments, care planning and clinical management plans for those patients who meet the referral criteria
Requirements
- must have an active registration with either NMC/HCPC and a minimum of 12 months post grad experience
- no restrictions on practice/ Open investigations by NMC/HCPC
- you do, however, have to be a registered health care professional and have 1 years of post-graduate experience

- as a Functional Assessor, you will not be required to treat, advise, refer, diagnose, or rehabilitate
- as a Nurse Assessor, you will not be required to treat, advise, refer, diagnose, or rehabilitate
- excellent communication and influencing skills
- good communication skills
- 12 months post qualification experience within a HCPC or NMC qualification as the following, RGN, RMN, RNLD, Occupational Therapist, Paramedics and Physiotherapist
- basic IT skills and ability to work with online programmes such as SystemOne
- ability to work under pressure
- good time/resource management skills
- this is a permanent position with full-time and part-time working hours available
- ability to work towards set targets
- knowledge and understanding of NHS recruitment and selection
- you do not require to have any previous experience working as a Clinical Assessor as you will receive an in-depth training programme before you start assessing alone
