- this Primary school are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual with experience of working with children with special educational needs
- to work with small groups of children under the supervision of the teacher including the implementation of Individual Learning Plans
- work collaboratively with both teaching and support staff to ensure best outcomes for students
- experience of working with students with ASD and ADHD is essential
- as well as a kind and nurturing approach, clear and equitable boundaries must be in place
- you will be required to develop communication skills across KS1 in small group interventions and assistant in day-to-day learning
- work alongside other teaching and support staff to ensure a safe and productive work environment is maintained
- foster independence in students and promote well-being and good welfare
- you will need to demonstrate excellent behaviour management skills and a calm, professional approach to learning
- within SEMH role, effective behaviour management skills is important
- you will work in collaboration with SENCOs, Class teachers and SLCN therapists
- work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff
- be responsible for ensuring school policies are upheld including behaviour policies
- support with the personal care of students
- being able to work with the class teacher, adhering effectively and collaboratively to specific child needs and supporting interventions
- being proactive to support each pupil's individual needs, managing challenging behaviours and building strong relationships to create a stimulating learning environment
