bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum
continuous Improvement/ Lean qualifications
prior experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer or as in Purchasing
requires an engineering, manufacturing, or commercial background with a thorough level of product knowledge
A deep understanding of manufacturing processes, manufacturing methods, application of existing manufacturing, engineering, and product knowledge
experience in Supplier Quality Assurance/Supplier Development in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment
demonstrable experience of managing Supplier Quality / Development with powertrain suppliers would be an advantage

Responsibility

working closely with the Purchasing and other Engineers in terms of managing supplier activity
obtaining quotations and implementing engineering changes on existing part numbers
participating in supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing process development
assisting in the supplier corrective action process including containment, root cause investigation, and corrective action
ensuring suppliers use quality tools effectively
working with suppliers to ensure all product requirements are met through the effective use of Minitab, FMEA, Control Plans and SPC
responsible for determining that all requirements are met by the supplier for new or updated products
measuring supplier quality performance according to established procedures; driving appropriate improvements to meet established targets
facilitating continuous improvement activities to reduce defect
participate in supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing process development
assist in the supplier corrective action process including containment, root cause investigation, and corrective action
ensure suppliers use quality tools effectively
work with suppliers to ensure all product requirements are met
review the supplier’s quality resources for new product introduction and current products to reduce supplier related issues, improve process capabilities
measure supplier quality performance according to established procedures
facilitates continuous improvement activities to reduce defects
other duties as deemed reasonable
participates in supplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing process development
assists in the supplier corrective action process including containment, root cause investigation, and corrective action
ensures suppliers use quality tools effectively
