Requirements


  • knowledge of energy trading and risk and how the different segments of the energy sector use and implement ETRM solutions, with specific focus on gas and power trading
  • 8+ years' experience and 3-5 years ETRM experience, either within a consultancy or solution provider selling to the industry
  • experience selling complex solutions to trading, risk and operations within energy traders, utilities, investment banks and oil and gas majors in Europe
  • minimum of 3 years direct sales experience within SaaS
  • experience selling in to Accountancy, Management Consultancies, Professional Services
  • proven experience meeting and or exceeding sales targets
  • clear and demonstrable experience of managing the whole sales process
  • proven experience of software sales demonstration skills
  • proven experience articulating a software solution to Board-level contacts within prospective companies
  • experience of leading and managing meetings with senior client stakeholders
  • proven experience of new business development and opportunities generation
  • ability to take ownership of sales opportunities, managing prospective client expectations, with minimal senior oversight
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to author client facing documents and presentations

Responsibility


  • plan and manage pre-sales engagements and proposals from outset to closure
  • manage multiple stakeholders internally and externally
  • support sales operations and maximize the effectiveness of individual sales opportunities
  • provide critical input and questioning from a customer perspective to ensure the best coverage of customer needs
  • identify risks and build appropriate mitigation plans and points of escalation to drive engagement to a successful closure
  • perform gap analysis of the target market, routine analysis of the competitor landscape and market segmentation
  • demo the software, across front, middle and back office operations of a variety of different customer types with complex trading strategies, across the energy trading sector
  • completing in-depth discovery to assess product-fit against the prospect’s needs
  • completing full qualification of new sales opportunities to assess viability of the sales project
  • deliver software demonstrations tailored to the prospect’s needs
  • maintain prospect contact and opportunity information to highest standard in Salesforce Use an excellent sales enablement tech-stack, including Salesloft, LinkedIn
  • the primary goal for a Sales Consultant is to meet, manage and close new logo sales opportunities and deliver against a pre-agreed revenue target
  • take the lead on opportunities, but where appropriate the Sales Consultant call upon additional resources including Pre-Sales Consultants, Sales Management, Exec sponsors
  • whilst they expect the majority of leads to be fed from the SDR and Marketing teams, Sales Consultants are expected to contribute a small number of opportunities from previously agreed strategic key account lists
  • prioritisation, account planning, and winning new business
  • relationship building, cross-selling and up-selling solutions
  • maintaining busiess over an extended sales-cycle
  • the main focus now is to get financial institutes to commit to using their software capabilities full-time
  • building relationships with potential clients in the investment industry
  • demonstrating the benefits of the data feed system to clients
