  • working with farm animals - 1 year
  • experience working in a children's farm environment with a range of different breeds would be advantageous as our farm animals are pets

  • we are looking to recruit a skilled operator who is experienced in the operation of Telehandlers, Combining, tractors, sprayers, excavators, log processors
  • good communication skills

Responsibility

  • ensuring milking cows are fed at the correct time for maximum performance
  • manage the milking rota, ensuring all milking cows are milked twice a day at a reasonable split
  • primary cultivation

  • we are looking for hard-working no-nonsense individuals to work as a part of our farm team
  • you'll be part of a team of 3 plus 3 relief staff
  • starting wage depends on previous experience but happy to escalate quickly if candidate exceeds expectations
  • the ideal candidate is someone who enjoys multiple faucets of farming and is happy to turn their hand to a couple of milkings a week, help with calves and other stock work with the replacements and feeding / bedding up the herd
  • we are a block calving grazing dairy with plenty of opportunities for generous rotas and time off from 15th April until 1st September, after that we usually operate a 12-2 rota through the winter plus any prearranged holiday
