Requirements


  • understanding and passion for delivering excellent customer service and support
  • experience with the airline industry, or working and coordinating with the MOD would be a bonus but is not essential
  • strong managerial and leadership capabilities
  • fantastic organisation and administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise own workload
  • exceptional communication skills with people at all levels, and assertive when necessary
  • experience working to tight deadlines and under pressure, with the ability to multitask
  • ability to travel to sites and customers when necessary

Responsibility


  • drive and lead the development of a well evidenced commissioning sufficiency strategy
  • work collaboratively within the organisation and support and provide expert advice to operational stakeholders in social care
  • develop the fostering service, specifically children with complex needs and initiatives on how the Council can better support foster carers
  • conduct quality assurance of providers as well as market development, including creating briefs and training programmes
  • develop in-house residential services and improve communications within commissioning
  • oversee the operational delivery of all services in the Care Group
  • provide strategic leadership, management, and advice on matters concerning cared for children and care experienced young adults
  • support the development and implementation of children’s services’ vision, values, and strategic objectives, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • manage the budget for Children in Care and Leaving Care Services, ensuring financial targets are met
  • chair relevant panels, attend key boards, and contribute to decision-making forums as required
  • single assessment, ICPA, etc)
  • this will often be in a crisis situation when we are 'on duty'
  • lead and develop a specific area of adult social care and health
  • improve outcomes for adults and older people through constructively and effectively challenging professional and managerial practice
  • these plans will sometimes be joint with other agencies / professional e.g mental health
  • develop a Care Group Delivery Plan to meet service needs and contribute to the annual planning process of the Trust
